warning for references to depression and suicide
i'm currently on the plane back from a winter trip with my family. in my downtime when i wasn't editing photos i have created a sort of all the vocaloid songs i know well, because in conversation with my boyfriend i had to explain that literally every single vocaloid song is in some way or shape awfully depressing. unfortunately i don't know a lot of vocaloid honestly (most of it is kagepro which. man) but out of the ones i know. here are some thoughts
actually happy (mostly)
- roki
this one still in fact does reference death but in a yolo kinda way--we're not gonna die tonight, let's live life to the fullest.
- i'm glad you're evil too
i really love this song, especially rachie's cover. she does an amazing job of translating the lyrics into a bond stronger than anything that is still playful and silly. basically about two lonely people who find comfort in each other--i think this one might have minor references to depression? the mood of this is so warm i love it
- drop pop candy
the cutest vocaloid love song. at first i was like there's no way there's literally anything sad in this one but then i read a ton of youtube comments saying that the lyrics reference depression/suicide and i was like. i genuinely don't know if it's overthinking or if it's actually meant to be interpreted that way. but due to that uncertainty i'm filing this under actually happy
deceptively upbeat
- my r
- yuukei yesterday
- kyu-kurarin
- shounen brave
edgy?
- ghost rule
- lost one's weeping
normal depressing
- my r
- quiet room
- kyu-kurarin
the first time i read the lyrics for this one i wanted to kms
incomprehensible
